Rishikesh has come up as a very popular destination for activities like camping and white-water rafting, but there is no beating the latter. The thrill of rafting on the turbulent rapids of the Ganga is enjoyed throughout the year, except during the rains and winter season. From Brahmpuri to Neem Beach near Laxman Jhula is the stretch that is perfect for beginners and children. It offers around 9 kms floating distance and takes about one and a half hours to finish. Of course charges vary anywhere from Rs. 500 to Rs. 3000, as per the stretch chosen.

Prices range from Rs.1500 to Rs.5000 depending on the duration of the flight. The state has proper paragliding rules. the activity is regulated by the Adventure Wing of Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB), keeping the international safety standards in mind,Those providing para services follow these rules. The Board also organises paragliding events and competitions to promote the sport.

For those who are less adventurously inclined, there are peaceful pursuits like bowling alley, cricket, gun shooting, pool table, archery and the like. Rishikesh have something or the other for everyone. Not all look for thrill. The middle-aged parents and children are quite happy with games like archery and hoverboard although, to be honest, such tourists are minuscule in numbers.
