The secluded FRH of Khrisu is at an elevation of 1795m, 22km from Pauri. Built in 1913 to manage the forest, the FRH is now being promoted as an ecotourism designation. The FRH complex also has bamboo huts. The FRH gets snow in December-January but remains accessible. The Khrisu Nature Camp adjacent to the FRH and is managed under the Joint Forestry Management Committee of the locals. Managed by a team of local youths with professional catering and trained guides, the camp assists in community participation A medicinal plant nursery, a ringal bamboo nursery and centre for walnut development have also been established here.
